Why is my fridge not cooling or freezer not freezing?
Cooling problems can have different causes, and the same symptom can occur with different faults. Temperature controls, sensors, airflow, fans, defrost systems, electrical components and the refrigeration system can all affect appliance operation. An engineer therefore needs to diagnose the appliance before confirming which component or repair is required.
Customers sometimes describe a non-cooling fridge or freezer as a “compressor problem”. A compressor is one possible part of the refrigeration system, but poor cooling does not by itself confirm that the compressor has failed. LCDA diagnoses the fault before recommending compressor replacement or other refrigeration work.
Fridge freezer error codes and temperature warnings
If the appliance is displaying an error code, warning symbol or temperature alarm, include the exact information shown when booking. Also provide the make and model number where available. Codes and warning indicators vary between manufacturers and models and are used as part of diagnosis rather than as a substitute for inspecting the appliance.
